Dataskyddsförordningen (DSF), eller allmänna dataskyddsförordningen (engelska: General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR), är en europeisk förordning som reglerar behandlingen av personuppgifter och det fria flödet av sådana uppgifter inom Europeiska unionen. GDPR medför nämligen exempelvis striktare krav vad beträffar det inbördes arrangemang som ska finnas på plats i de fall en personuppgiftsöverföring sker mellan två personuppgiftsansvariga. När det gäller överföring av personuppgifter mellan en personuppgiftsansvarig och ett personuppgiftsbiträde ska de bestämmelser som stadgas i artikel 28 GDPR följas. Microsofts GDPR-villkor speglar de åtaganden som krävs för registerförare i Artikel 28. Artikel 28 kräver att registerförare åtar sig att göra följande: Endast använda underregisteransvariga med den registeransvarigas samtycke och förblir ansvariga för underregisteransvariga.
